About Us

Among the range of problems that face low-income countries, one of the most critical is lack of literacy education.  Because literacy is the gateway to knowledge, it is a necessary skill for allowing someone to escape from the cycle of poverty that plague many regions in the world.  Another important aspect of literacy is that it allows people a means of self-advocacy through increased communication, and increased ability to criticize and understand the motives of political factions that affect their lives.
Here at Advocates for Global Education, we aim to accomplish this goal in two ways, by advocating for the inclusion of literacy training in foreign relief programs, and by personally acquiring and donating literacy training materials.
